Widowhood

Widowhood is a difficult time that I hope I don't have to encounter until much later in life. However, at any point in life that this could occur I hope my husband and I are financially stable so the lifestyle we were previously living doesn't alter too much, especially if children are involved. I know how difficult the time will be and how much it'll affect me, so I will take the steps to reach out and seek counseling and hobbies to try and ensure I don't fall into depression after the tragedy. In earlier years, I will be diligent for myself and husband to find the best life insurance policies to protect ourselves in the future if this does happen.

Tactics:

  • Set ourselves up financially for the future

  • Avoid making quick decisions, especially financially, soon after the death

  • Surround myself with a strong support system

  • See a counselor

  • Be strong for other family members

Stay as positive and optimistic as possible during the loss
