Inspired Philanthropist

"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God" -Matthew 5:8

Philanthropic Mission Statement

I feel passionate about providing access of shelter, guidance, and support for all women and their children who have been affected by domestic violence.

Who Am I & Why Am I Here:

I am a sophomore at Auburn University majoring in Communication with a minor in Non-profit. I feel led to serve women and their children impacted by domestic violence. I’ve previously volunteered with an organization that helps these women and their children and by doing so I was able to see first hand how impactful the organization was to not only coping with the situation emotionally, but financially and mentally as well. I would like to be involved within an organization that focuses first helping the women get through the trauma it caused them and then begin to help them begin this new chapter of their life with as much ease and support as possible.

My Values, Vision, Issues, Impact:

My values I believe were primarily developed from the environment in which I was raised. I was brought up in a religious household that was constantly serving our church and people in the community as best we could. Therefore, I would consider myself to place my values in faith, honesty, and respect. Through the household in which I was raised I’ve developed a love and compassion for people that I believe will play a key role in my career.

Time, Talent, Treasure and Trust:

Personally I find giving my time, at least at this point in my life, is my favorite form of support to show an organization. While I understand the importance of donating monetary donations, I currently am not able to do so as well as I hope to in the future once I have graduated from college. However, for the time being I would like to focus on donating in my time.

Financially and Philanthropically Responsible is Important

It is imperative for one to first be financially responsible, which will then lead them to be philanthropically responsible. In order to be financially responsible it is key to start early, regularly, and aggressively. By doing so one can feel most prepared while entering each stage of life. Furthermore, once I am financially stable and am able to become more philanthropic with my money it is important to responsible in where you choose to donate your money and keep up with how often and how much you’re donating.

Desires for My Philanthropic Legacy

My desires for my philanthropic legacy is I would like to improve the resources for women and their children who have been affected by domestic violence. My ultimate desire is to inflict as much positive change and uplift as possible.
