Single

As a single adult I know it is important to have a plan for myself financially and philanthropically before venturing into the world on my own. After college I would like to move to Raleigh, North Carolina for approximately two years to begin my life on my own, without being under the financial support of my parents. When I get to Raleigh I would love to live downtown in the heart of the city in a single bedroom apartment, and ideally get a job as an event coordinator using my communications degree. After spending about two years there, I hope to move back to my hometown of Melbourne, Florida to establish myself more in my career and begin my pursuits of a job in the non-profit realm. There is a United Way office that I would love to work for and grow in my career. It’s imperative to have a financial and philanthropic plan prior to embarking because you hold yourself accountable to not only your finances, but also your dreams and aspirations of what you hope to accomplish in your adulthood.

Goals:

  • Have a strict budget plan for myself that I don’t deviate from

  • Travel

  • Remain debt free

  • Purchase my dream car within 5 years of graduating

  • Start a retirement fund

  • Save at least 10% of every paycheck
